The Rundown

I didn't do a very good job of keeping up the blog this year, which is a shame since the details tend to get blurred quickly by the whirlwind of activity and the volume of liquor. I don't know if anyone actually reads this (except Joel; thanks, Joel!), but I always like reading back through the entries and thinking, "Oh, yeah...THAT was a good show."

After slowly dipping my toe in for the first few days, I dove in head first for Friday and Saturday, barely stopping to eat and sleep. I'm sure I'll leave a few out, but here's a quick list of the shows I hit:

Caveman
Jeffrey Lewis
Kimya Dawson
The Cro-Mags
Fear
Fiona Apple
Christopher Cross
Screaming Females
Crocodile
R. Ring
Low Anthem
Alejandro Escovedo
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (joined by Tom Morello)
Kid Congo Powers
Spoek Mathambo
Dionvox
The Biters
Tommy Stinson
Santigold
White Rabbits
Lanie Lane
The Black Belles
John C. Reilly
Karen Elson
Jack White
Gary Clark, Jr.
War on Drugs

Salt in the Wound

Here's a short review of the Springsteen show with a set list. I left just before "Thunder Road." I would've loved to have heard "10th Avenue Freeze-out" and "We Gotta Get Out of This Place." But I did get to see Eric Burdon jump on stage with Donovan for "Season of the Witch" last night, which was fantastic.
